Girls Night...

If you didn't know, I have 2 very pregnant sisters. Megan is due the middlie of April, and Saydee the first of June. We decided there was a definite need for a girls night, before the babies took over their lives. 

Girl's Night in our family comes with several requirements:

1. At least 7 decks of cards, so we can play 'Hand and Foot'

2. Very nice husbands, who understand we have no control over how late we'll be home

3. Homemade Pie.

 4. Lots of face-covering laughter.

5. Grandma Rinda.

It might be a while before we get another chance to party like this... 

But man, I can't wait until these babies arrive. Hurry it up.

Happy Easter

Easter was fabulous.

Okay. That's an understatement. 

Easter was FANTABULOUS.

(That's right. Fantabulous.)

Both our families put on some fantastic Easter egg hunts.

The Burrell’s hunt was aimed at the children. My mom put a lot of work into creating packets for each child with pictures from around the yard where eggs would be hiding—kind of like a picture scavenger hunt. We each got teamed up with one of them, and raced through the front and back yard searching for our eggs. 

The kiddies had a blast, and I may or may not have loved it more.

At the Jaynes’, both Jared and Ryan and their kids were with their significant others’ families, so that just left the childless group. Jill and Steve put on the most fabulous Easter Egg Hunt for us. 

With a 'Ready, Set, Go!' all seven of us 20-somethings raced to collect more eggs than anyone else.

I thought i did pretty good, and even left some behind cuz I felt selfish. 

Come to find out Shelley pretty much doubled everyone else's findings.

Next year I will not be so kind, you have been warned.

All in all, Easter was a hit.

 I had so many fun pictures (thanks Em!) , I  had to throw them into a slideshow. Check it out, they’re pretty cute.

I heart Leprechauns...

I love St. Patrick's Day. Like a lot.

When we were growing up--and well into our adulthood--the leprechauns would come, leaving trails of gold glitter and green footprints climbing on the windows, bathroom mirror, and TV screen.  Candy would be hidden in groups of 5-one for each child. And all green. Green Starbursts, green Airheads, green suckers, green gum, green everything.

 It was a sad day when I got married and realized I had to leave those leprechauns behind.

No worries, though. 

The leprechauns that visit us aren't quite as cool as the ones from my childhood, but they're figuring it out. 

Holy February Festivities...

In a perfect world, all holidays and birthdays and celebrations would be evenly spread out, as to not overdose on jubilation.

That is not a world we live in when it comes to the month of February.

From the 10th through the 26th we are celebrating.

To put our anniversary, Valentine's Day, and Matt's birthday all in one week, some may say we're crazy.

I say we're awesome.

Since we just got back from Disneyland, we kept our anniversary low-key and spent it at home eating cake.

I came home from work on Valentine's Day to fine our dinner table in the middle of the room decked out in candles and (recycled) roses and rose petals. ready for a delicious meal.

We had also decided not to do Valentine's Day gifts...of course Matt didnt like that idea and made me look bad by spoiling me with gorgeous jewelry, smell-good perfume, and Milk Duds-my faves.
( I did scatter treats around the apartment for him, but Matt said I coudn't post pictures cuz they're inappropriate)

I did make it up to him by showering him with gifts for his Birthday.

Dark Knight Trilogy, the new Barcelona CD, comfy pillow, a GIGANTIC mortar and pestle, and some fancy new shoes.

By the look on his face, I'd say he had a good day.

All in all, February was pretty great.

Can’t wait to do it again next year.

Happiest Place on Earth...

It's not a secret; I love Disneyland.

I can't help it! I know Matt wishes I could, but I just can't. I don't think Matt knew what he was signing up for when he agreed to time and all eternity with me and Disneyland.

When we were dating I convinced him we needed annual passes. We went 4 times in a year.
 Let me say that  again in case you didn't understand. We frolicked in Disneyland FOUR different times.

What?? That's more than some people have been in their whole lives.

We should be content with that, right? Branch out? Try new things? Travel the rest of the world?

You would think, but no. Instead, we go back to Disneyland.
(That's 5 times since we've known each other, in case you're counting)

Dear Elder Jaynes...

Matt's cute little brother Adam is officially a missionary. It's been so fun watching him prepare for this. He's grown so much just in the last couple months. We're so proud of him, and can't wait to see what he does.

Those lucky Czechs. They're gonna love him.
